Creating A DIY Vision Board

 

As the year dwindles to a close, I find myself becoming more pensive. I ask myself, “Have I become the person that I always hoped to be?”

But the answer is never black or white. Sometimes, I’m overjoyed by the extent of my achievements, while other times I’m met with the sting of unmet expectations.

The truth we’re all wrestling with is that this life is unpredictable. However, no matter which way the pendulum swings, I’ve come to realize that there is still growth. So today, I’ll update my vision board with my hopes, prayers, and dreams for the following year, and I’ll take you along for the journey!

My Goals & Intentions

This year all of my intentions are less about specific material things, and more about the type of person that I’m becoming.

  • I want to be someone who is able to steward this Sunday’s Grace platform well.

  • I want to continue to grow in my relationship with God.

  • I want to maintain good physical and mental health.

  • I want to build a stronger sense of community.

  • And lastly, I want to live my life well. Not just materially speaking, but as a human being. I want to have a zeal for life that isn’t dependent on my circumstances, but on the state of my heart and attitude.

In Philippians 4:12-13 the Apostle Paul says, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

In this way, I want to live the next year of my life doing the best that I can, and then leaning into the strength of God for the rest.
